Hustlebear (ハッスルベア Hassurubea) of the Grizzly Clan keeps a stoic front, coming off as cold and unfeeling, even compared to the average Laser Beast... usually. Once his temper hits its limit, he explodes into a burning rage, much to his own shame.

Hailing from northern climes, he is resistant against cold and very tenacious, and his physical strength is such that he can personally destroy a small mountain with one strike. His MVP Weapon is the Strong Claw Laser, which delivers a powerful shock that scrambles enemies' insides.

Hustlebear—or someone who looked like him—was one of the Laser Beasts who were unhappy with how their society was growing increasingly callous and machine-like, so he and the rest of Brownlion's unit left their underground empire and traveled to the surface of Beast where they founded a new civilization that would become the Beastformers. During the final battle between the Laser Beasts and the Beastformers in 2023, Hustlebear witnessed White Leo and Tigerburn become immobile crystal statues. The Road to Legends' Revival Chapter 1

In 2038, the then-peaceful Beast was invaded by Galvatron II's Decepticons. Hustlebear was part of the joint Beastformer-Laser Beast alliance that fought against the invaders. He was hurt in battle, but was healed by Tigerburn's Medical Aid Laser. The Road to Legends' Revival Chapter 3

Part of the first (and only) series of Laser Beasts, Hustlebear is an anthropomorphic grizzly bear in high-tech purple armor. He comes with his "Strong Claw Laser", which can only be held in his right hand since his left has been molded in an open-palmed clawing position.

Instead of a rubsign, he has a transparent orb in his torso with a small hole in his back. By holding his back to a light source, looking into the orb reveals the elemental power of Fire, Water or Wood.
