Strong Hippo

Strong Hippo is a Beastformer from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Strong Hippo (ストロングヒッポ Sutorongu Hippo) is one of the many Beastformers who joined White Leo's resistance forces as Galvatron's Decepticons began to conquer the formerly-peaceful planet Beast with their army of cold-blooded insurgents. His role in the Autobot-allied Beastformer forces is amphibious transportation. He holds the rank of King of Gamborudia, over Emperor Scout Mouse.

Part of the second series of Beastformers, Strong Hippo is an anthropomorphic hippopotamus in blue high-tech armor. He comes with his "Aqua Hippo" (アクアヒッポ) hatchet.

His rubsign reveals one of three symbols; Fire, Water or Wood. The initial release has the symbol as a black outline against "mood ring" style color-changing backdrop. He was re-released in series three, in a new box lacking the Transformers brand marks; this release gives him a rubsign that reveals a full-color symbol on a black backdrop.

• The Hasbro release of this toy was similarly (eventually) available with both styles of rubsign.
