Vekktral

Vekktral is a Dire Wraith from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

A particularly sadistic and powerful Dire Wraith, Vekktral is a Wraith's Wraith willing to do anything to ensure victory over the hated Solstar Order. He's also something of a scientist, eager to sacrifice the lives of others in pushing the bounds of what the Dire Wraiths can do.

Fiction

IDW Generation 1 continuity

While on the planet Mato Grosso, Vekktral assaulted a field trip overseen by the Solstar Order and found an unusual creature that his instincts told him was both a machine and a child. Shining Armor #1 He attempted to merge with it, Shining Armor #2 but he was shot by a Neutralizer quickly and teleported away. Shining Armor #1

Eventually however, Vekktral deduced that the creature was a Cybertronian and travelled to a recently conquered planet in the Huni System to meet with Starscream. The Seeker was supremely unimpressed but Vekktral managed to win him over by showing him Stardrive. Once Starscream agreed, Vekktral gave his name and explained his plan. Shining Armor #2

After the alliance had slain a Galactic Council force due to meet with the Solstar Order at Orchid Crossing, the Wraiths assumed the forms of the dignitaries while Astrotrain became their shuttle.

Arriving at the space station, Vekktral (in the guise of the Council representative) exchanged in some false pleasantries with the Solstar ambassador before he slew him while shedding his disguise and gave the order for the attack to commence. To Stardrive's horror, she recognized Vekktral as the Wraith who had almost killed her on Mato Grosso. Vekktral then pointed out the promised Cybertronian to Starscream (who could tell for himself which one was Cybertronian). Shining Armor #1

When the Autobots arrived on the station, they ignored the Wraiths entirely in favour of the Decepticons and Space Knights. An insulted Vekktral ordered one of his minions to assimilate Sky Blast only for the result to prove an uncontrollable monster that tore through everything. After the hybrid had killed Doomwings, Starscream ordered Vekktral to control the creature only for the Wraith to inform the Seeker that neither the Wraith minion or the Autobot controlled their shared form. When the space station began coming apart at the seams, Vekktral complimented Starscream's aim in destroying the Autobot shuttle before he boarded Astrotrain (who'd regroup where the Decepticons damn well chose to regroup, not where Vekktral said) and noticed that the Wraith/Cybertronian had survived reentry and they would have to deal with him first before they retrieved the energon synthesizer.
