Jam has become synonymous with Hot Shot as a result of this comic ( [1] ).

Originally one of the (multilingual) comics that came with Armada figures, it was scanned and edited for comic effect. As well as being quite funny, it also manages to make more sense than the original.

Fairly obviously, this is NOT canon, but is nonetheless commonly referenced by fans.
