Magnificus is a former Decepticon military counsul wrongly ousted by his rivals. He has teamed with the humanoid Ga'mede, a kindred spirit, and together the wreak a terrible revenge on those who wronged him.

Magnificus is an evil clone created by Shockwave (presumably from Precptor.) He was never (that we saw) released from his cloning tube.

Dreamwave was clone-happy, Magnificus is probably not a clone in other continuities.
