Optimus Prime obtained the Prime Decepticon Hunter during his training by the Thirteen, but they would not give him any information about the sword. During his training with Micronus, Optimus used the sword in a fight against a robot foe while trying to protect some humans. Despite several of the humans being killed, Micronus would not give Optimus any more information on the weapon, simply reminding him of his original task. Atop a nearby hill, Optimus found an engraving that allowed him to utilize the weapon and unleash an arc of lightning, taking out the robotic foes.
