Decepticon Hunter

The Decepticon Hunter, sometimes called a neo-forge, is a multi-purpose tool which links to its wielder's neural transmissions, reconfiguring into whatever weapon or device is needed. Blades, cudgels, blasters... if it can be thought of, it can replicate it... within limits, of course.
This technology can prove finicky however, as the wielder must have a clear mental image of what they're trying to make. Plus, even a minor malfunction in the machine itself can prove dangerous, if not result in extra damage to both the Decepticon Hunter and whoever's using it.
Fiction
[edit]2015 Robots in Disguise cartoon
[edit]Decepticon Hunters were standard equipment on Autobot prison ships. Strongarm found one in the wreckage of the Alchemor, however when she attempted to get it to turn into a proto-blaster, it instead turned into variously a sword, a flail, and some sort of energy-projecting fork. Bumblebee later took it with him when he and Sideswipe confronted Thunderhoof, only to drop it when he was knocked flying. Sideswipe later used it as a mace to knock Thunderhoof into the space bridge the Decepticon had been building. As the Kospego Commands! Fixit continued to investigate why the weapon wasn't working properly but made little progress. Russell inserted a kazoo into the Hunter to manufacture an emergency in order to get Fixit and Denny to work together. The pair successfully removed the kazoo and found the loose wire that was stopping the weapon from working into the bargain. Rumble in the Jungle
Optimus Prime, while training in the Realm of the Primes, had a fancier version named the Prime Decepticon Hunter. Out of Focus Denny and Fixit were able to duplicate the Decepticon Hunter, making two more which were presented to Strongarm and Sideswipe. Sideways As they later discovered during the fight with Megatronus, combining the three Decepticon Hunters granted Bumblebee, Strongarm and Sideswipe a power up which they made good use of during the battle. Battlegrounds, Part 2
Steeljaw became interested in acquiring a Decepticon Hunter. While freeing captured Decepticons from the Autobot base, he attempted to obtain Strongarm's weapon, only for her to best him in combat. Misdirection There were two more Decepticon Hunters locked away in storage aboard the section of the Alchemor which a group of Decepticons had been using as a hideout. Portals Steeljaw succeeded in liberating the weapons and promptly used them to wrest control of the group from Saberhorn and Glowstrike. Decepticon Island (Part 1) During the Autobot invasion of the ship, he was also able to get hold of Bumblebee's Decepticon Hunter, and combined the three weapons in order to bestow a tremendous power up on himself, enabling him to go toe-to-toe with Bumblebee and Optimus Prime. With the help of some Mini-Cons, Bumblebee managed to reclaim the weapon and use it to trap Steeljaw in the floor, resulting in the Decepticon being caught when the Autobots' cryo-gas bomb went off. Decepticon Island (Part 2)
Soundwave began dispatching Mini-Cons to collect the Autobots' Decepticon Hunters while trapped in the Shadowzone. Stuntwing was first sent to get Bumblebee's weapon and succeeded when the Bee Team was rendered unconscious after combining into Ultra Bee. King of the Hill (Part 1) King of the Hill (Part 2) He then sent Trickout to obtain a second Decepticon Hunter. Defrosted The Mini-Con succeeded in acquiring Sideswipe's weapon while the Autobots were once again merged into Ultra Bee. The Great Divide Soundwave later sent Hi-Test to collect a third Decepticon Hunter from Strongarm, but was disappointed with the Mini-Con's failure due to Strongarm getting away to help Nightra after Hi-Test unintentionally caused a commotion that scared off the Autobot's friend. The Mini-Con fled out of fear when Soundwave threatened to terminate him. Guilty As Charged Goldgear succeeded where Hi-Test failed, and the Autobots began to realize there was a connection with the thefts of their weapons. Railroad Rage Soundwave was able to use the Decepticon Hunters to escape the Shadowzone, though they were eventually reclaimed by the Autobots after his plans of contacting Megatron using thwarted.
