What Universe character? We don't have an individual page for Spacewarp, so why Drench? —Interrobang 02:50, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations! You found a page that has not been touched since it was written long before the BotCon toy was announced. It is true, we were all wrong back then. Have pity on us. --ItsWalky 02:56, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Aha. It was touched in the last 30 seconds. My apologies. --ItsWalky 02:57, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I also was the original author the article, and I don't have dissociative identity disorder. At least, I don't think so. —Interrobang 03:03, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I had to think about it for a bit, but I'm pretty sure I believe that guys like Spacewarp and this Drench merit their own pages. Granted, this information will be rehashed in brief form on the G1 Drench and SG Drench pages, and there'll be a link here from SG Sideswipe's page... that sounds right to me. I'm of the opposite opinion, and think that unfinished concepts shouldn't get their own pages if a finished version exists somewhere, or else we open a huge-ass can of worms. I would make exceptions for stuff that would get buried or lost in insanely-big pages, like Optimus Prime or Unicron. --ItsWalky 03:24, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Had Drench come out, he would not have been the same character as Shattered Glass Sideswipe - that is my primary thinking. As it stands, we have not seen the Universe Drench character within any fiction, but even though Sideswipe borrowed his deco, that does not mean he does not hypothetically exist somewhere in the TF multiverse. (Heck, it's not even entirely the same deco - Sideswipe lost all of Drench's greenish gold.)
Yes, I realize this position means making alterations to Astrotrain, but frankly? We could seperate Spacewarp out too. He wouldn't have been the same character as Astrotrain, either (and would've had a different head *and* a different Mini-Con team), and this wiki is very character-focused. --Monzo 03:25, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
But the point is, he didn't come out. He never officially existed. The only thing that justified the page's existence is that it was the most up-to-date information on that toy concept available. --ItsWalky 03:38, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
I certainly don't think this page should be folded into SG Sideswipe's, but might it make sense folded into SG Drench? I doubt that SG Drench would look quite like this toy (maybe different mold, maybe just the G1 toy), but he wouldn't exist if not for the clamor over Universe Drench. Chip 03:32, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
My opinion's about the same with Walky. I think we shouldn't make exceptions those two and then ignore the numerous times that a character/toy concept began as a different one, but evolved into another character/toy (i.e. "Skywarp Interceptor", movie Mudflap as Erector). It's honestly a mess I'd like to just avoid. (I wonder what the dealio with the Piranhacons will be. If they don't end up as UT characters, are we going to have this debate again?)
On SG Drench's possible mold: He and Sideswipe are both "Seekers", which would imply a common body type, so.... —Interrobang 03:49, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
The rest of the Seekers don't share body types. For example, when Drench was assassinated, Bumblebee got an upgrade to Goldbug to take his place, but as a distinct bodyform. --ItsWalky 04:02, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Toy or not?

Should the Shattered Glass Sideswipe toy really be counted as a repurpose/prepurpose as Universe Drench? Sideswipe's colors are slightly but distinctly different from Drench's. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 20:31, 14 September 2015 (EDT)

No. But worth mentioning in the notes section. --Giggidy (talk) 20:33, 14 September 2015 (EDT)

Labeling

So how should we label Drench? Armada Decepticon, Energon Decepticon, Cybertron Decepticon or all of the above? Crossblades 20:36, 14 September 2015 (EDT)
