Mixes fiction and toys under fiction heading

Transformers sometimes use whips as melee weapons or as 'motivational tools'. Should a problem come along, then said Transformer will be well-equipped to deal with it by whipping the target well.

Fiction

Generation 1

Victory

Beast Wars

  • Transmetal Cheetor is armed with a whip. In 2008, Cheetor was given a new toy in the universe line that was also armed with a whip.
  • Transmetal Rattrap is armed with a whip as well.
  • Transmetal Packrat, being a repurposed version of a redecoed Tramsmetal Rattrap toy is also armed with a whip.
  • Beast Wars Metals Ravage's Beast Wars toy, being a retool of Transmetal Cheetor, is armed with a whip too.
  • Botcon exclusive Transmetal Tigatron is a redeco of Beast Wars Metals Ravage, so he is armed with a whip as well.
  • Optimus Minor's beast mode tail becomes a whip similar in design to Rattrap's.
  • Stinkbomb's beast mode tail becomes a head mounted whip-pincer.
  • Transmetal 2 Dinobot's beast mode tail, although never used in the show converts into a massive whip for his robot mode.
  • Cataclysm's design is based on Transmetal Cheetor's body, so he is armed with a whip as well.
  • When Megatron's transmetal form was being designed, his beast mode tail was initially going to be a whip-pincer weapon in robot mode.

Beast Wars II

  • Lio Convoy's Universe 2008 toy is a retool and redeco of Cybertron Leobreaker. His Beast Wars II figure was never armed with a whip but this new mold gave him a handy melee weapon. Much needed since he lost all of his guns.

Beast Wars Neo

  • Cohrada's tail becomes a whip in robot mode.
  • Sling's beast mode tail also becomes a whip.

Beast Machines

Dinobots

  • Rapticon, a redeco of Dinobot II, has the same tail whip.

2001 Robots in Disguise

  • Gas Skunk is a repaint of Stinkbomb and has the same whip-claw weapon on his head as the original mold.

Armada

Armada used several Beast Wars molds and added Mini-Con ports to them, which resulted in several characters being armed with whips.

  • Predacon, being a retool of Beast Wars Transmetal Megatron is also armed with a whip/claw/arm cannon.
  • Cheetor is still armed with a whip.

Cybertron

  • Leobreaker's tail turns into a claw-whip in robot mode.

DreamMix TV World Fighters

Transformers Animated

  • Optimus Prime can fire bola whips from his forearms to entangle his opponent's legs.
  • On the show, Lockdown has been shown to use a lightning whip.

2007 Movie

  • Megatron's Flail weapon (formed from his claw) is also referred to as a "chain whip."

Ask Vector Prime
