Chop Shop (RID)
| This article is about the Robots in Disguise (2015) Decepticon. For the Generation 1 Decepticon, see Chop Shop (G1). |
- Chop Shop is a Decepticon from the Robots in Disguise portion of the Aligned continuity family.

A one-man heist team, the kleptomaniacal Decepticon combiner Chop Shop will steal just about everything that isn't nailed down... and if it is nailed down, then he'll probably just steal the nails along with everything else. If he needs to make a speedy getaway or confound his pursuers, he can just as easily split apart into his five spider-like components, each of which can deliver a painful sting. Back on Cybertron, his massive criminal record led to his incarceration on the prison ship Alchemor. Now that he's free on the planet Earth, he has plenty of opportunities to create havoc while he searches for a way to get back home.

Chop Shop was one of the Decepticon criminals aboard the Alchemor, and was freed when the ship crash-landed on Earth. Shortly after escaping captivity, he began stealing and scrounging the parts he needed to construct a spacecraft to return home, and set up a makeshift base in an abandoned building. His thefts included copper wiring, kerosene, heating components, and computer chips. The next component Chop Shop needed was an aircraft gyroscope. Chop Shop visited a nearby airfield and began tearing apart a plane to find the necessary component. However, he was interrupted when Bumblebee and his team found him and attempted to bring him in. Chop Shop broke apart into his components and incapacitated the trio, then similarly overwhelmed Grimlock when the Dinobot attempted to intervene. Before the Autobots could stop him, Chop Shop's limbs hopped into a nearby manhole and escaped with the gyroscope.

Chop Shop then infiltrated a manufacturing plant to steal liquid oxygen. His components began filling a tanker truck with the chemical, but the Autobots intervened once again. Since Strongarm grabbed his right arm component, Chop Shop made do with a replacement — the Mini-Con Fixit. With his new limb, Chop Shop took down Strongarm and commandeered the truck, escaping once again. However, the Autobots tracked him back to his base. While two of his components continued work on the ship, the rest of Chop Shop angrily confronted his pursuers, demanding why he couldn't simply leave the planet like the Autobots wanted. Before they could answer, however, he began fighting against them with Fixit, quickly gaining the upper hand. Meanwhile, Denny Clay attempted to take out one of his separate parts with a crowbar, but the blow had little effect. Chop Shop grabbed Bumblebee and began electrocuting him, but before he could finish him off Fixit rebelled against the Decepticon. Bumblebee convinced Fixit to keep fighting back. After being punched repeatedly by his new right arm, Chop Shop released Fixit, and was subsequently frozen with liquid oxygen. The majority of Chop Shop was placed in a rebuilt stasis cell, but one of his arm components managed to evade capture and remained at large. More than Meets the Eye

Righty eventually sneaked into the scrapyard to try and free the rest of Chop Shop, only to be abducted by Nightstrike who subjected it to its worst fears and put it in a cocoon to feed on. Later, Bumblebee freed Righty from the cocoon and asked it to help protect Denny and Russell from Nightstrike. Initially, the spider sought to just scutter off, but it came upon a discarded bucket of paint and tossed it at the vampiric 'Con to temporarily blind it. The debt paid, Righty left. Even Robots Have Nightmares
Righty later returned to the scrapyard to liberate Chop Shop. It had more success this time, though it had to hide from the Autobots every once in a while. Once freed, Chop Shop reattached Righty before grabbing some Energon cubes to go. Chop Shop's escape was complicated by Fixit being rebooted to sentry mode. Eventually, the combiner was knocked out and Fixit was about to deactivate him permanently before Denny switched off his sentry mode. The Trouble with Fixit
