Prior to the toy's release, there has been quite a bit of confusion regarding Forth's name: Online distributor BBCW Distributors was the first to list wave 3 of the Robots in Disguise Mini-Cons for preorder, which included a figure named "Decepticon Back". Online retailer ToyWiz subsequently solicited the figure as "Decepticon Backfire", whereas competitor BigBadToyStore listed him as "Kickback". Competitor Entertainment Earth eventually listed the figure as "Decepticon Back" again, and would continue to do so even after having stocked the figure, with the packaging revealing its actual name to be "Decepticon Forth". On top of that, the Robots in Disguise mobile game also continues to state his name as "Back", and even a major Hasbro announcement of numerous upcoming toys in November of 2015 claimed the figure to be named "Decepticon Back", even though by that point it had already been stocked by several online retailers, which had posted photos of the packaging that featured the name as "Decepticon Forth", as noted above.
