PlatinumGames (プラチナゲームズ株式会社 Purachina Gēmuzu Kabushiki Gaisha) is an independent video game developer founded on August 1, 2006 by ex-employees of Capcom's defunct Clover Studios and based in Osaka, Japan. Known for their expertise in the hack & slash genre, games developed by the company include Sega's Bayonetta series, Vanquish, and MadWorld, Nintendo's The Wonderful 101 and Star Fox Zero, and the granddaddy of all, Konami's Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Recently they have also developed a few licensed games for Activision, such as The Legend of Korra, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan and - relevant to this wiki - Transformers: Devastation.
