PlatinumGames Inc. (プラチナゲームズ株式会社 Purachina Gēmuzu Kabushiki Gaisha) is an independent video game developer based in Osaka, Japan. Founded on August 1, 2006 by ex-employees of Capcom's defunct Clover Studios, they are known for their expertise in the hack & slash genre. Games developed by the company include Sega's Bayonetta series, Vanquish, and MadWorld, Nintendo's The Wonderful 101, Star Fox Zero and Astral Chain, Square Enix's NieR: Automata, and Konami's Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. They also developed a few licensed games for Activision, such as The Legend of Korra, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan and—relevant to this wiki—Transformers: Devastation.
