Fiction

IDW Generation 1 continuity

One of his great claims to fame is the Froidian Classification System of personality types. The Sensuous Frame

At one time Froid and Rung were considered rivals Signal to Noise and they clashed over the proper use of personality adjustment treatment. Births, Deaths, and Interventions Rung may have ghostwritten some of Froid's texts or so he implied millions of years later. The Sensuous Frame

Shortly before the war, Froid decreed (without even meeting him) that the inconvenient rabble-rouser Megatron definitely needed personality adjustment and brought Trepan to 'help' him. However, a sudden change in the law meant a P.A. decision needed two signatures to reduce the risk of abuse. Rung arrived to tell him and offered to countersign if he agreed with the findings. Froid knew Rung wouldn't do it and could only despair that he was going to suffer for this. Births, Deaths, and Interventions

In later years, Rung would privately lament that Froid and other rivals had inflicted irreparable damage on his reputation. Signal to Noise

Rung thought that Froid died during the war but that wasn't the case. Signal to NoiseSpeak, Memory: Part 1

Rung would later quote Froid aboard the Lost Light when discussing an edit made to Towards Peace during a session with Megatron. Towards Peace

When Froid appeared on the Lost Light there was a tense conversation between him and Rung that revealed the last time they spoke was on the day Sunder, a rogue mnemosurgeon turned serial killer known as the "Tetrahex Ripper" was arrested, along with his brother and accomplice Sceptre. Fascinated by the case, Froid had been aboard the prison ship taking Sunder to Garrus 6 when the two brothers escaped their cells and took him hostage, fleeing the vessel in a shuttle. The shuttle was destroyed and Sceptre died, but Froid and Sunder escaped and settled on Scarvix.

It was revealed that Froid took Sunder's eyes away from him, under the conviction that he'd only need to see his patients before operating on them, before almost being given Rung for his next meal. He was denied from feasting upon the psychiatrist thanks to the intervention of Skids, but eventually was granted back his sight to see his next victims, incapacitating Rung before gaining access into Skids' memories...
