The name or term "Thundercracker" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Thundercracker (disambiguation).
Thundercracker is a Decepticon from the Wings Universe portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Cloned from the famous Decepticon, Thundercracker is part of the army tasked with bringing about Jhiaxus's vision of a new Cybertronian Empire. However, whilst he believes in that ultimate goal, he frequently disagrees with his master's methods of reaching it. He frequently twists his orders to his own liking, and prefers taking his legion of Thundercracker drones on mission that will keep him away from his allies.

Thundercracker's favorite pastime is psychological warfare, using his super-sonic engines to terrify land-bound enemies with ear-shattering booms. He does, at least, stop short of sadism – this treatment is reserved for Thundercracker's opponents, and not the truly weak and innocent.

Fiction

Wings Universe

Thundercracker and his drones responded to an incursion in their territory, but instead found a group of Empties who had wandered from the Rad Zone... or, at least, that's what Thundercracker and his drones thought they were. The Empties revealed themselves to be a rebel cell led by Obsidian, and consisting of Strika, Hoist, Sandstorm, and Octane. After the rebels quickly blasted the drones into submission, Thundercracker was captured. Strika, Hoist, and Sandstorm interrograted Thundercracker, and eventually got the coordinates to Megaplex's location from him. Thundercracker's captors took their time getting outside of Iacon, as they wanted to be seen with him. When Megaplex and his army arrived, Obsidian refused to release Thundercracker, and after Obsidian compared Megaplex to the original Megatron, a battle ensued. Termination

Timelines

Thundercracker is a recolor of the BotCon 2013 Machine Wars: Termination box set Skywarp (itself a recolor of Revenge of the Fallen Dirge, retooled with a new head) with a new color scheme resembling Thundercracker's Machine Wars toy. He transforms into a fighter jet and has two spring loaded missiles underneath his wings or, in robot mode, on his arms. He retains the Mech Alive gimmick present in the original Dirge toy, with spinning gears in his chest when you move his arms up. He was sold in plastic bags alongside fellow Botcon 2013 exclusive, Mirage.
The original toy was also used to make Jetblade.
