Piggy Island
- Piggy Island is a location from the Angry Birds Transformers continuity.
In the middle of an ocean lies Piggy Island, a land of constant battle. Largely overrun by the gluttonous, kinda-dumb Bad Piggies, their shoddy constructions litter the island... as do the ruins of Piggie structures, as they're demolished by the Pigs' nemeses: the very angry birds who make up the Flock. The battle over the apparently-tasty eggs protected by the Flock rages on day after day.
Dominated by the huge dome-shaped Hog Head Mountain, the island sports a nature-defying variety of environments... environments that got weirder once the "EggSpark" landed. The alien device caused large parts of the island to turn to metal, as well as turning the contested eggs into the Eggbots, who worked hard to spread the reformatting further, aided by the (easily) brainwashed hordes of armored-up Piggies.
Now the similarly-roboticized members of the Flock and those few left loyal to King Pig work to reverse the process and return their home to normal... or as close to "normal" as it passes for in the first place.
Fiction
Piggy Island became notably more dangerous when the EggSpark caused it to mutate into a metallic madhouse! Though the changes were slow at first, Angry Birds Transformers #1 its transformation eventually spiraled out of control! Terror Towers sprouted from the ground one by one, followed by all sorts of strange structures. Age of Eggstinction! The island seemed to even gain a will of its own, attacking both Autobirds and Deceptihogs as they fought back against the numerous Eggbots that sprung up to fight them. Revenge of the Fowlin'! Piggy Island reverted back to normal once the EggSpark was separated from the land, and launched back into outer-space. Hard Boiled
Games
Piggie Island is made up of several different regions:
- The Beach
- The first area hit by Optimus Prime Bird in his quest to free the island from the Eggbots, and the Flock's normal stomping grounds. This sandy beach completely surrounds the Limestone Lagoon that takes up a large chunk of the island's lower front. Piggie towers litter the shallow waters.
- Desert Island
- Smack dab in the middle of the Limestone Lagoon, the Desert Island is a barren region full of cracks and mini-canyons, making it very perilous for any Piggie perched on a particularly precarious pile of platforms.
- Slingshot Forest
- Cobalt Plateaus
- The river flowing through the area is also the only place (so far) on the island where one encounters the aquatic Sharkithogs.
- Pig City
- The region hit the hardest by the EggSpark's reformatting, some might argue the changes are an improvement. The ramshackle buildings of King Pig's seat of power have been turned to metal, making the haphazard constructions sturdier, if not any less nonsensically-placed. The roadways are littered with deep pits, the only passage being light-bridges activated by blasting flashing-red control towers along the way. Most of the remaining non-metal structures are made up of sturdy stone, tough obstacles to crack.
- Luckily for the Autobirds and Deceptihogs, a lot of buildings are still pretty freshly-reformatted, which means plenty of Energon Cubes to be gained by blasting the silver structures, meaning plenty of Energonicon firepower.
- Hog Head Mountain
- Metalicized by the EggSpark, this gigantic dome has been turned into Professor Pig's workshop. The contraption he's constructed inside the cave turns materials gathered by the Autobirds and Deceptihogs into useful Energonicons, valuable Crystals, or other materials... but not reliably.
Notes
- Giant slingshots seem to be naturally-occurring landmarks on Piggy Island.
- The back (northern?) half of the island is still covered in fog on the game map, indicating possible future expansion. In other Angry Birds games, this covered area includes regions like the Great Cliffs, Winter Wonderland/Snowy Peak, and the Bamboo Forest.
