Notes
- Katō voluntarily turned down the role of Megatron from the 2007 Transformers film and the part was given to Kōtarō Nakamura, instead. Katō cited, "I no longer have the same level of confidence as I did then," as his reasoning.[2]
- Despite retiring from the role, Katō would deign to play a parody of Megatron called "Mesutron" (Femmetron) in episode 7 of Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. When one hears the age in his voice, they can see why he declined the opportunity to continue playing Megatron (he was 80 at the time). Tesshō Genda played a parody of Optimus Prime named "Osutimus Surprise" (Masculus Surprise) in that same episode.[3]
