This article is about the Operation Combination Autobot. For the Armada Mini-Con, see Glide (Armada).
Glide is an Autobot Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Not Night Ranger, but enjoys motorin' nonetheless.

Glide (グライド Guraido) is having a lot of fun while he's stationed on Earth. Easy-going and cheerful, he's often found cruising the streets in his sleek vehicle mode, gathering intelligence on enemy actions... and offering rides to pretty human women. He insists it's all part of the job, and is utterly dependable in combat, so he usually doesn't get much grief for his behavior.

Fiction

Micromaster

Like most of the Turbo Team, Glide was infected with the Reverse Evolution virus, presumably through contact with Road Police, Circuit, Neo-Wheel, or Discharge. The virus turned him into a Decepticon, and he went about causing random destruction with his teammates. Sireen tricked Glide and the others into combining with him to form Sixturbo, then restored them all to normal with an anti-virus program. Enter the Urban Disaster Relief Specialists!!

Glide was later present as part of Sixturbo when the Autobots first confronted Sixwing Berserker Mode. Enter the Decepticon Sixwing!!

Later still, Road Police and Glide's investigation of a mysterious Decepticon attack led to the discovery of Decepticon Sixbuilder. Sixbuilder the Ill-Fated Warrior!?

Operation Combination

Years later, Glide and the rest of the Six-team Micromasters joined Guard City and the Road Corps in defending Earth from the forces of the Decepticon Führer Scrash. Operation Combination

None of the combiner team individuals ever actually show up as individuals, only as components of the combined robot modes.

  • Sixturbo (Micromaster Sixteam, 1992)
    • Japanese ID number: TF-03
The original version of Glide was available only as part of a Sixturbo gift set in Japan. Aside from the motorcycle mode (model undetermined), Glide can form the back or chest of any of the similar-build Six-Teams (Sixturbo, Sixbuilder, or Sixwing). The original Six-Teams are considered among the more difficult Japanese Generation 1 pieces to find.
This mold was also used to make Universe Groove.

Micromaster

  • Glide (Micromaster, 2002)
    • Sixturbo number: 2
    • Accessories: Sixturbo legs
In 2002, the entire Sixturbo team was re-released as part of The Transformers: Micromaster, in individual boxes with a number visible to show which mold was inside each box. For this release, all of the decals from the original version were replaced with paint applications, plus he gained a few bits of deco, like his exhaust pipes.

  • Reverse Evolution Glide (Micromaster, 2002)
    • Sixturbo number: 2
    • Accessories: Sixturbo legs
In every case of twelve Turbo Team Micromasters, two of them were solid-black-plastic "Reverse Evolution" Decepticon-allied variations. All six Micromasters were available in this manner.

Notes

  • Glide, like all of the six-team Micromasters, had no individual bio information whatsoever until his Micromaster release a decade after his original Operation Combination release.
