Universe comic

[edit]

In Aurex 1104.30-DB Zeta (a highly Primax-influenced universe), Groove was born from Dr. Brian Jones's attempts at reverse-engineering Maximus combiner technology and applying it to Mini-Con anatomy. Superion, Defensor, and Rail Racer fought Devastator in the Combiner Wars during the Unicron Singularity crisis. At some point, he was abducted by Unicron. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/07/31

Groove was one of the many Transformers held in the Cauldron, the death-pit deep within the shattered remains of Unicron. He and the other Protectobots formed Defensor when Trailbreaker and Silverbolt released the prisoners, making a break for freedom. Escape

Toys

Universe (2003)

  • Autobot Groove (MicroMaster Protectobot, 2004)
  • Series: I
  • Accessories: Defensor "legs"
Part of the first series of KB Toys exclusive Universe MicroMasters, Groove is almost identical to the Micromaster reissue of Glide, transforming into a 1988 Honda Gold Wing GL1500. His standard placement is as the "ass-guard" of Defensor, but he can also be used as the chest (which, due to his thin alternate mode, looks weird). He came with Defensor's pelvis and thighs.

Energon

Groove was released in Europe under the Energon line, with no notable changes other than the packaging.
