David Simmons is a scientist, and was once an associate of the sinister Skylogic Systems. He has since cut all ties with the corporation and gone on the run.

Fiction

Hearts of Steel

David Simmons was one day approached by government agents, who showed the scientist concrete proof of the existence of extra-terrestrials. Having been told that the aliens were out to harm humanity by creating alien-human hybrids, Simmons and a couple of other scientists were put to work concocting a virus that would eliminate the hybrids.

At Skylogic's behest, Simmons performed a field-test for a viral batch within an apartment block in Winchester. Terrified that the trial resulted in the deaths of forty-three innocent people, Simmons fled and severed his ties to Skylogic. But he had been caught in the act by a C.C.T.V camera, whose footage eventually came into the hands of the Lone Gunmen: John Byers, Melvin Frohike, and Richard Langly. In time, the Gunmen came to ally themselves with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee of the Autobots, and with their superior alien technology were able to track down Simmons to a Sweet Lovin' Highway Motel. The Gunmen then forced themselves into Simmons's room, abducted him, and interrogated him with the help of their robotic friends. Though Simmons was only able to provide a limited amount of information, he cooperated and gave the Gunmen the address of Skylogic Systems itself. He then presumably left the country, as he originally had planned. The X-Files: Conspiracy
