Dinobot (RID)
- The Dinobots are a Decepticon subgroup from the Robots in Disguise portion of the Aligned continuity family.
Dinobots aren't terribly bright, are fond of wrecking things, and have reptilian alt-modes.
They include Grimlock and Scowl.

Grimlock was a Dinobot, imprisoned for causing severe property damage. True Colors He was one of the criminals placed in a stasis cell aboard the prison ship Alchemor. After the ship crash landed on Earth, his was one of the only stasis cells to remain largely intact after the impact, although the cell's actual "stasis" function was disabled. While Bumblebee, Strongarm, and Sideswipe tangled with the Decepticon criminal Underbite, Grimlock managed to partially break free of his cell, and enthusiastically tried to join in the fight. Before he could do so, he was restrained by Fixit, who zapped him with a taser attachment. Eventually, Grimlock managed to goad Underbite into a rage to help "free" him. Pilot (Part 1) Grimlock pursued the Decepticon to a scrapyard, though Underbite proved too much for him to handle. Joining up with Bumblebee's team, Grimlock enthusiastically helped bring Underbite in, and after they succeeded, Bumblebee put Grimlock on probation. Pilot (Part 2) Later, as a reward for bringing in Minitron, Grimlock was formally inducted into the Autobot ranks. True Colors
A second known Dinobot, named Scowl, was also imprisoned aboard the Alchemor. On Cybertron, Scowl worked for Thunderhoof's crime cabal as hired muscle, tearing down buildings on the land that Thunderhoof had illicitly acquired. After being freed when the ship crashed on Earth and laying low for a time, Scowl discovered a human demolition site, and began eagerly demolishing the abandoned stadium, only to be discovered by a fellow Dinobot Grimlock. The two Dinobots bonded with one another over their mutual love of smashing stuff, managing to win Grimlock over and walk away free, promising that he would never endanger a human. While wandering the forest, he incapacitated the other Autobots with a tree, then angrily confronted Grimlock about his apparent betrayal. Although Grimlock tried to reason with him, the Decepticon escaped and went on a destructive rampage. Scowl was finally clobbered by a massive stone ball and was arrested by the Autobots. - Thus far, the Dinobots of Robots in Disguise are a naturally-occurring subspecies of Cybertronian like Amphiboids or Buffaloids, in contrast to the artificially-created Dinobots from Fall of Cybertron. However, it has never been clarified if they are or are not connected to the Autobot subgroup of the same name.
