The name or term "More than Meets the Eye" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see More than Meets the Eye (disambiguation).
The story based on the G1 episode "More than Meets the Eye, Part 1". The word is BASED, since there are quite a few characters who either never appeared in the episode, or are anachronistic:
Grimlock, Superion and Menasor are present, but they weren't even created yet.
Roadburner, Wheelie, Ratbat, Slugfest, Overkill, Buzzsaw, and Beastbox have been retroactively added. Which creates even MORE of a headache in Wheelie's case since it's doubtful the Autobots have ever been to Quintessa before this point, and Roadburner, being a 1990 Micromaster, was never featured in the cartoon at all. For all we know, however, Soundwave's 1986/87/88 cassettes could have been with him the whole time...
Talking of Roadburner, his seemingly random inclusion - being the only Micromaster, the only character beyond 1988, and not coming with his partner Wheel Blaze - along with the fact Whirl is present without his Deluxe Vehicle partner, suggests that this is the second mobile game in a row Mobage has mistaken Roadburner for Roadbuster.SIGH.
Frenzy wasn't present in the original episode, though since he appeared only a few episodes later and was a 1984 toy, his appearance here is plausible.
Buzzsaw also did not appear in the original episode, and appeared later in Season 2. However, he was a 1984 toy so, like Frenzy, this is considered acceptable.
All other characters were present in the original episode, so no problems there.
