Kenji Utsumi

Kenji Utsumi (内海 賢二; Utsumi Kenji August 26, 1937 - June 13, 2013) was a veteran Japanese voice actor. His extensive resume dates back to the 1950s, during which he voiced such memorable characters as Shenron, Recoome & Porunga in the Dragonball franchise, Alexander Louis Armstrong in the Fullmetal Alchemist franchise, Senbei Norimaki in Dr. Slump & Arale-Chan, Raoh & Kaioh in Fist of the North Star, Zodd Nosferatu in Berserk, Genji Kamogawa in Fighting Spirt and among many other titles.
In the realm of dub work, he was the official dub-over voices for Steve McQueen, Sammy Davis, Jr., Victor Mature, and Robert Shaw, as well as voicing Apollo Creed in the Rocky franchise. His Cartoon credits included Apocalypse in the TV Tokyo dub of X-Men, Gordon in Thomas & Friends, Scrooge McDuck in Ducktales, Parallax in Green Lantern, the Shredder in the BS2 Dub of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon, Mr. Perkins in Despicable Me, Kerchak in Tarzan, Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, and more.
Utsumi had passed away due to peritoneal cancer on June 13 2013. Of the life he lived, he had not a single regret.
