A quantum lock is a seal in reality which prevents anyone from time-traveling into or out of a region of spacetime. It nullifies attempts to alter history and can be utilized to safeguard valuable objects. Quantum-locking anything requires extremely advanced knowledge and capabilities of physics.

To this end, Solus Prime split the Saber into five pieces, with the hilt, the Origin Matrix being hidden on prehistoric Earth of Primax -408.24 Epsilon. Eons later, however, the lock was weakened when critical universe Primax 207.0 Epsilon was destroyed, triggering malignant effects across the multiverse. Upon learning that a dimension hopper had precipitated civil war on Cybertron, CTCF officer Una commented that the Terrans should have also quantum locked Cybertron as with Earth, but her colleague Chak pointed out the unfeasibility of such a task, citing Cybertron's vastly greater history of higher order life.
