Metrobase is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Metrobase (メトロベース Metorobēsu) is one of Metroplex's kin, a massive base that houses Autobots.

Micromaster

Upon the discovery of strange ruins at the base of Mount St. Hilary that suggested to them that Transformers had been on Earth before them, the Autobot Micromasters moved the Metrobase to the foot of the mountain in order to protect it from Decepticon attacks. The Menace of Landcross's Combining Formation!

Well, there goes the neighborhood.

Decades later, Metrobase was stationed in Earth's orbit in order to guard against Decepticon assaults after a severe battle left Metroplex in critical condition. Unfortunately, its lack of a transformation cog meant it was unable to properly fight against the powerful traitor Metrotitan, and it too was left crippled as Straxus's forces rained down on the unfinished Scramble City. Alpha Trion brought up Metrobase during an recap of Metroplex's life story, explaining that it was a being of the same type as Metroplex that was assigned to guard the Ark while Optimus Prime still lay dormant within. The Mysterious Knowledgeable Grandpa Chapter

Notes

  • Metrobase was originally, in what was for a long time its one illustrated appearance (seen at the top of this article) drawn to resemble the Autobot city-bot Metroplex. Its white, blue and burgundy coloration, meanwhile, was similar, but not identical, to the Metroplex redeco Metrotitan.
  • For the appearance in "Metrowars", Metrobase's color palette was revised to a more distinct lilac-based scheme, one of those previously used by Guido Guidi in the fleet of Titans seen briefly in the The Transformers: More than Meets the Eye Annual.
