I didn't make the cut for Pacific Rim.

Nitro Zeus, or Nitro for short, is a powerful, merciless hunter, using his vast arsenal and formidable tracking skills to locate and capture whatever targets Megatron demands. Shockwave's death on Earth greatly angered him, and now both humanity and the Autobots are in Nitro's sights.

Unlike Shockwave, who is a hunter and assassin, Nitro is more of a stalker. Even off the battlefield, Nitro makes it his business to know everything he can about where you live and who you associate with, just in case. Ever since Nitro was taken prisoner by humans, he's been passing the time by tracking his captors' families. Fortunately, Nitro is such a braggart that he'll share all his intel before he gets a chance to use it.

Nitro thinks that he's some sort of celebrity among the humans. After all, if they expend so much effort to keep him in his cell, he must be a big deal! As a result, Nitro's taken to wearing a gold chain around his neck, because that's what human celebrities seem to do!

Nitro Zeus was among the Decepticons in T.R.F.'s custody. When the T.R.F. opted to work with Megatron and release some Decepticons to be part of his "crew", Nitro Zeus was among his first choices. He was cleared for release, and joined the Decepticons on their hunt for Cade Yeager.

Though the Decepticons discovered Cade's location, he managed to evade them initially. They followed him to an abandoned town, where they were met with some not-quite-unexpected resistance in the form of the Autobots Bumblebee, Drift, and Crosshairs. Unbeknownst to the Decepticons, Cade has also rigged the entire town with traps for just such a situation. While many other Decepticons fell in the resulting chaos, Nitro Zeus was among the survivors, though Cade escaped. When Cade traveled to England, Nitro Zeus followed with Megatron and Barricade.

Megatron eventually, inevitably, betrayed T.R.F. and began working with Quintessa to destroy Earth and restore Cybertron, after a corrupted Optimus Prime broke free of Quintessa's control. Nitro Zeus was at Megatron's side as the two planets began colliding, and he participated in the final battle with the Autobots. Unfortunately, he met his demise at the end of the fight via a swift blast to the head. The Last Knight

Toys

The Last Knight

  • Decepticon Nitro (Voyager Class, 2017)
    • Accessories: ???
Part of the Premier Edition Voyager Class assortment, The Last Knight Nitro transforms from robot into a fighter jet. His head attaches using a standard Titan Master socket, albeit not a Titan Master, allowing it to be removed and replaced with any Titan Master, including The Last Knight Cogman. While Nitro has an identical head to Shockwave in the film, this toy uses a similar, but distinct head sculpt.
No, he does not come with a gold chain.

Notes

  • Nitro Zeus's model is reused from Age of Extinction's KSI Boss robots, with Shockwave's head switched in. His packaging art erroneously sports the KSI Boss's original head.
  • He's named after Nitro Zeus, the code-name for a shelved cyberattack plan against Iran, which was presumably shortened to just "Nitro" by Hasbro for trademark and/or marketing reasons.
