After learning that Sam got an A- on his family geneology report, Ron took drove them to buy a car. He wouldn't let Sam get a Porsche, instead going to Bobby Bolivia's. Sam found a nice looking Camaro, which Bobby offered for five thousand dollars, but Ron wouldb't pay over four thousand. Unfortunately, the car took the rejection badly, breaking all the other windows in the lot. After Sam left the house and the car projected a large smog cloud, his wife said she thought he was a cheap man.

Later, when the Autobots come searching for his great-grandfather's glasses, Ratchet knocked over a powerline, causing a blackout and mild tremor. Ron quickly ran under the table (never spilling his wine glass) while Judy remained on the couched. After seeing the damage done to the backyard, Ron concluded that an earthquake had happened, also destroy the knewly made fountain and path (it was actually Optimus). Going to Sam's room, they found him sweaty and grimey. Judy thought he was...stimulating himself, which greatly embarrassed both Witwicky men. When Mikaela Banes came out of hiding, Ron high fived his son. Shortly afterward, Agent Simmons and Sector Seven came in and took the Witwicky's and Mikaela into custody. Sam and Mikaela were rescued by the Autobots, but Ron and Judy were still taken.

After the destruction of Megatron and the Decepticons, Ron and Judy expressed disbelief that there was an "alien incursion", saying that the government wouldn't lie to its citizens.

Trivia

  • According to writer Roberto Orci, Ron was not given the nickname "Sparkplug", nor his son the nickname "Spike" (though his wife does refer to him as "Spark"), because unlike their G1 counterparts the movie characters are not oil rig workers or mechanics. [1]
  • Also according to Orci, Ronald was named after his father-in-law. [2]
