Power of the Primes is a subline imprint of the Generations toyline, constituting the third and final portion of the Prime Wars Trilogy.

First introduced in mid-2017 at San Diego Comic-Con, Power of the Primes, in keeping with the previous two toylines, features a complex line-wide gimmick that encompasses every size class: the "Prime Masters", which are small Powermaster/Titan Master-esque figures that represent the sparks of the Primes. Prime Masters can store in Pretender style Decoy Suits, this is the basis for the Prime Master pricepoint. Prime Masters are able to pilot the alt-modes of Legends Class figures, similar to Titan Masters. Deluxe figures include armor that mounts on their chests and can attach a Prime Master in a manner similar to the Breastforce, be used as hands for combiners or as a block to fill out the torso of a combiner. Voyagers have arm mounted bucklers, which allows Prime Masters to become armor for the Voyager figure's arm or become feet for the combiner.

All Deluxe class figures have combiner posts to combine with Voyager class figures, who have combiner ports, similar to Combiner Wars.

Leader-class toys are unique: rather than being a single full-sized figure, each Leader-Class Power of the Primes figure is a small, Deluxe-sized figure that can combine with an auxiliary component to "power up" into a larger Prime. Leader-Class toys also come with a unique Matrix, which can mount any Prime Master figure.

This toyline can also interact with the last two toylines in the Prime Wars Trilogy. For Combiner Wars, as we already said, all deluxe class figures have combiner posts, while Voyager class figures have combiner ports, meaning you can mix and match to create combiners using the two toylines. This also means that deluxe class figures can combine with Legends Godbomber, and all of its subsequent reuses. For Titans Return, as we mentioned earlier, all Prime Masters share the same design as Titan Master, meaning they could interact with any figure from that toyline as a Titan Master would. This also means Titan Masters can interact with this toyline as a Prime Master would.

Fans were allowed to choose a character that would receive a toy and influence the story. Optimus Primal won. [1]
