Talk:Junkheap (AOE)

I reverted the note about his not being named in the movie, because I think its important. We have a fiction section describing what Junkheap did in the movie. So if someone wonders, "Hey, I saw the movie and there was no character named that! But that applies to scores of movie characters. Demolishor, Sideways, all the Constructicons... Thinking about it, were the Wreckers' names ever given on-screen? Do you suggest we add similar notes to all these characters? Jalaguy (talk) 16:07, 1 July 2014 (EDT)

The thing is, if you expand your purview beyond the movie universe, there will be a vast number of characters whose names have never been given in fiction, and identifying and recording every single one would be a Herculean feat. If you feel strongly about this, I'd suggest asking other users' feelings in the community portal, but for now I'm removing the note for consistency. Jalaguy (talk) 16:40, 1 July 2014 (EDT)

In any other continuity it is safe to assume the toy name is their "real name." But in the movieverse there is an uneasy relationship between toy names and Michael Bay names. I'm pretty sure Sideways and most of the Constructicons were named in fiction somewhere—a storybook or comic or something. I'm not sure the Junkheaps seen at the beginning of TLK are actually Junkheaps - we see them killed in AOE, and while yes, Junkheap was made by KSI and therefore could have been mass-produced, we only saw one set originally, and it seems unlikely that KSI would have made more later and they would have been given sentience by Megatron.
