Last Christmas I go to see some Christmas movie—me, my girlfriend and some of her family members—and we see a Transformers trailer, and at the end of it, as it’s dying down, it’s quiet in the theater, and I go, “Thanks Michael Bay, you just ruined f***ing Christmas!” And the whole place exploded in laughter. Which is great, right? This was in L.A. at the Cinerama Dome or whatever. Literally three weeks later, I get a call saying, “Yeah, John, Michael Bay needs to see you in Santa Monica.” So it turns out that I totally **** on the movie, and three weeks later I end up in it.

Notes

  • He does a mean Scatman Crothers impression.
  • In alternate versions of The Last Knight, Steven Barr originally recorded dialogue for Nitro Zeus in the "Pre-Release" version of the film, while for the "finished" version, Nitro Zeus was re-recorded by DiMaggio himself. A food amount of lines of dialogue were also changed. Some examples include:
    • During his introduction, the finished version has him say: "I know where you live, Enrique, say hello to your wife for me!" while the other, he says: "By the way, Enrique, Chad's sleeping with your wife!"
    • When the Decepticons arrive in the abandoned down, Barr's Nitro says: "I know they're close!" while DiMaggio's Nitro says: "Oh, I feel a fight comin'!"
