When the Decepticons invaded and took over the planet, White Leo headed a group of rebel Beastformers, though they didn't have much luck in rescuing a number of their fellows whom the Decepticons had enslaved in an underground factory. White Leo and his lieutenants were trying to decide what to do next when the Autobot Headmasters arrived. The newcomers teamed up with White Leo's rebels and went to check out the Decepticon base. White Leo knew of an entrance beneath the piragilon swamp, and Fortress instructed him to use it while the Autobots took care of the Decepticons.
White Leo contacted Platinum Tiger who knew the way, but told him it would be impossible as the swamp was infested with metal-eating piragilons. White Leo was stymied until Fortress used Battleship Maximus to drain the water from the swamp, leaving the piragilons helpless. White Leo was then able to lead his team into the cave under the swamp, and with Platinum Tiger's help, head towards the Decepticon factory. They encountered Wheelie, Daniel Witwicky and the escaping prisoners partway through the tunnel, and led them back out into the open air. The victorious Autobots provided White Leo with the services of the Monsterbots, should the Decepticons return. Rebellion on Planet Beast

In White Leo's absence, the Decepticons attacked Beast with Alligatron's forces again, this time also using Predaking and a horde of Sharkticons. When the Decepticon forces held Brainstorm and Highbrow hostage, Alligatron hoped to use them to lure White Leo into their clutches. White Leo soon arrived with a contingent of Autobot Beastformers to aid the Autobot Transformers, and they were all successful at driving the Decepticon invaders off the planet once again. White Leo thanked the Autobots for their help at making Beast a peaceful planet. Great Decisive Battle of Planet Beast!

Transformers Legends comic
White Leo shows up in the Legends World after being exiled from his homeworld by his enemies, the Laser Beasts. He uses six mystical jewels to transform Neo Akihabara City into a jungle and recruit the unwilling local beasts to fight alongside him, granting them Beastformer armor, though the local humans instead end up as naked as animals (and are offended when White Leo calls them "ape-type beasts"). Unfortunately, White Leo finds that he's been followed by his nemesis Tigerburn, Emperor of the Laser Beasts, who explains that the six jewels contain the crystallized power of the Three Wise Ones and that he wants his hands on them. Tigerburn is seated atop Doublecross, to the surprise of his old buddy Repugnus, and White Leo explains that the Monsterbot has been Tigerburn's puppet ever since the Laser Beasts cut his head off, removing his sense of self. Furthermore, Tigerburn reveals that he's modified his body to become completely robotic, used Legends technology to become a Headmaster in order to combine with Doublecross's body, and acquired the most powerful Laser Beast weapon, the Haywire Laser.
White Leo can do nothing but flee from the powered-up Tigerburn, but his younger sister, White Lune, appears before him with Doublecross's severed head and a plan: if the Three Wise Ones once used the jewels to create the Beastformers by giving machines to animals, they should be able to use them to evolve further alongside machines. The jewels emit a light that sucks in the Haywire Laser and merges it with White Lune, who transforms into a robot and knocks Tigerburn's block off. White Leo himself is merged with Doublecross's head, allowing him to transform into it and combine with Doublecross, whose mind(s) is restored in the process. Doublecross and White Lune blow Tigerburn back into his own dimension with a Super Fire Attack, after which the siblings prepare to return and continue the war back home, but first they stop to apologize to the Legends locals for forcing them to become Beastformers. Upset, Rattrap and Tigatron tell them to consider how things would be if their roles were reverse: how would the Beastformers like it if they were forced to wear nothing but neckties and work as office workers? White Leo and Lune agree that it would be awful. Legends Comic: Bonus Edition Vol. 51
Toys
Beastformers
- White Leo (Beastformer, 1987)
- Beast ID number: 1
- Accessories: "White Beamer" sword
- White Leo is an anthropomorphic white lion with blue robotic armor. He came with his "White Beamer" (ホワイトビーマー) sword. His rubsign reveals one of three symbols; Fire, Water, or Wood. After the move to non-Transformers-style packaging, each White Leo might also have the "Burst Sun" symbol, but the odds were pretty low.
- White Leo white version (Beastformer, 1987)
- Accessories: Some weapon
- A solid-white version of White Leo was sold through gumball machines in Japan. The gumball versions of the Beastformers appeared to have randomized weapons (or just crummy QC).
- Burst Sun Special Set (Multi-pack, 1987)
- Accessories: "White Beamer" sword
- The first Beastformers multipack (still using the Transformers logo and factions) contained nine normal figures, then one of two special editions of the faction leaders, either White Leo with the "Burst Sun" rubsign, or a clear-plastic version of Alligatron. The box contained no windows, so you didn't know which of the leaders you got until you opened it up.
- The other nine standard Beastformers in the set were Black Jaguar, Būpink, Crowmax, Dog Hunter, Dreameater, Earthhog, Mingo Kid, Muskhorn, and Slo.
Legends

- White Leo functions as the Headmaster of Legends Doublecross. He is a redeco of Titans Return Daburu.
Notes
- Titans Return Twinferno's Titan Master, Daburu, is molded in reference to White Leo, and was accordingly redecoed for the Legends release of Doublecross.
Foreign names
- English: Pirate Lion, Sheep Commander (Omni Productions dub)
