This article is about the heroic Decepticon. For his evil Powermaster counterpart, see Darkwing (G1). For a list of other meanings, see Darkwind (disambiguation).
Darkwind is a heroic Decepticon from the Shattered Glass continuity family.
Actually, Darkwind, you're about to be dying down there.

Darkwind is a heroic Decepticon who forms a comedic duo with his equally jovial friend Dreadwind. Don't confuse him with Darkwing.

Fiction

Shattered Glass

The Autobots decided they didn't appreciate the duo's feel-good comedy tours of slapstick gags and their signature "Who's Got the Touch?" routine, so they had Darkwind and his stage partner Dreadwind executed. Totally downer punchline. Around Cybertron #5

    • Japanese ID number: RM14
    • Accessories: 12 missiles, "Pulverizer"
Robotmasters Gigant Bomb was officially repurposed as Shattered Glass Darkwing.
A redeco of the Generation 2 Dreadwing toy, Robotmasters Gigant Bomb transforms into a "flying wing" style stealth bomber with under-slung six-missile gatling cannon. He can also transform into a treaded "tank" mode. In jet form, he can combine with Smokesniper's jet mode to make a complete aircraft called Gigant Sniper.
Unique to this release is the Solitarium weapon "Pulverizer", a hand-held non-firing cannon. Also, this is the only time this mold was sold separately from the smaller partner unit.
The same mold is used by BB and Dreadwind. The mold was also intended to be used for Megatron in Generation 2, but was never released.

Notes

  • Darkwind repurposing the Gigant Bomb toy as a body nods to how his normalverse counterpart repurposed the original version of the mold, Dreadwing, in the Marvel Generation 2 comic.
