Photon missile

As the population of Cybertron grew and the planet faced an unprecedented energy crisis, the reign of the Overlords was becoming untenable and the once-unified society began to fragment into a number of competing city-states. Some of these city-states possessed photon missiles, weapons of mass destruction that were seen as the "ultimate deterrent" against rival territories slipping into open war.

After saboteurs from Vos destroyed a vital power plant in Tarn, the two city-states slipped into open war and simultaneously launched their photon missiles at each other, leading to the destruction of both. Subsequently, Megatron was able to convince many of the surviving refugees to join his fledgeling Decepticon movement. State Games
