Loudpedal is a Decepticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Not....Pedal Loud!

To look at Loudpedal's (ラウドペダル Raudopedaru) Tech Specs, one would think him a useless coward. In truth, however, he is a genius without peer: he is one of the galaxy's foremost musicians. Unfortunately, that's not a skill the Decepticons recognize the value of, so they rate him very low, and employ his sonic talents offensively instead. If he concentrates enough, Loudpedal can deploy sound blasts as offensive weapons, or perfectly track down Autobots, or even sculpt solid matter into new shapes and functions.

Loudpedal lives a double life as the wildly popular underground musician C Shadow, releasing his music through the interplanetary filesharing system "GalacShare" and making public appearances using only a holomatter avatar based on the human Raoul. Fame means nothing to Loudpedal, though; he ignores all the offers that come his way, content simply to create. Exhaust, however, deduced C Shadow's true identity, and saw the virtue of his skills and their potential value to the Decepticon cause.[1]

OH bugger. Is it too late to ask Vivisector if he wants his old job back?

Loudpedal and his research partner Oil Slick operated under the remote direction of Shockwave and Knock Out in a hidden Decepticon bunker. One of their research subjects had been used to test new Combiner technology, as well as growing a Matrix "shell" for Shockwave's exploitation. Deadly Aim An unexpected side effect of the various experiments was the test subject producing toxic sludge from its body, like a universal solvent. At the same time, the subject's own super-structure and internal working adapted to the sludge, but necessity becoming hyper-regenerative and self-repairing.

Loudpedal saw the opportunity to impress his superiors with this creation, and so he and Oil Slick arranged to use the test subject as a weapon. Induced cognizant stasis kept the subject inert between missions, after which it could be unleashed into the field to destroy selected targets before reverting to stasis for safe recovery and storage. Loudpedal made several successful deployments of the subject, and hoped his work (plus stunning good finish) would net him a fellowship with Knock Out himself.

However, Loudpedal allowed his ego and enthusiasm to get the better of him. The stasis-lock implant inside the subject eventually corroded beyond repair. This seemed to be a moot point, for the subject was quite tractable and did not seem to require punishment or restraint any longer to be obedient. Only when reporting to Shockwave and Knock Out did his superiors point out the obvious—the test subject wasn't submissive, he was merely biding his time until the station's resupply schedule provided him an escape ship. Sure enough, the alarms were triggered mere moments after Shockwave ended the video call.

Loudpedal and Oil Slick suffered greatly at the hands of their escaped test subject, who had chosen to call himself...Toxitron. The Toxic Transformer

Toys

Masterpiece

The sound of violence.
  • Japanese ID number: MP-25L
  • Accessories: Gun, grill gun, flight stand, holomatter avatar minifigure, Sound Warrior, rear-view mirrors
Masterpiece Loudpedal is a redeco and retool of Masterpiece Tracks, featuring a toy-accurate headsculpt. His deco is based on the black Diaclone Corvette Stingray variant released in 1984 only in Finland. His color scheme is much closer to that of the vintage toy than the 2002 reissue. He comes with the gun from the Road Rage release of the mold; a redeco of the Raoul minifigure from the original Tracks release, now in his "Auto-Bop" color scheme, representing Loudpedal's holomatter avatar; and a redeco of the Blaster boombox in the colors of his original Micro Change "RadiCasse Robo" toy, now representing Loudpedal's pocket "Sound Warrior" media player. He also comes with a sticker sheet, allowing the owner to replace the Decepticon symbol in the middle of the flame pattern on the hood with the "CS" logo featured on the original Diaclone release of the Corvette Stingray mold; for the purposes of this toy, however, the "CS" stands for "Cymond Shadow." A short story about Loudpedal called "Noise & Smoke" is printed on his instruction sheet.
Loudpedal was an exclusive to Tokyo Toy Show in 2016. Remaining stock was sold at TakaraTomy Mall.

Notes

  • "Loud pedal" is another name for the sustain pedal found on pianos. It's also the slangish term for the accelerator pedal on a car.
  • "The Toxic Transformer" established a character named Vivisector that was based on the black Diaclone Stingray; the story was released less than a day before the announcement of Masterpiece Loudpedal, which was based on the same figure. The author had no idea about plans for a Masterpiece version of "black Tracks", so that's quite a coincidence! He would subsequently rewrite the story to replace "Vivisector" with "Loudpedal".
