Bluestreak (Masterpiece)
From MediaWiki
| The name or term "Bluestreak" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Bluestreak (disambiguation). |
- Bluestreak is an Autobot from the Japanese cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Not much is known about the enigma dubbed Bluestreak (ブルーストリーク Burūsutorīku)—so little, in fact, that he is considered an urban legend by most. Word of him first emerged when it was claimed he was seen battling a huge insect in Asia; subsequent scattered reports from throughout the region agreed that he resembled the Autobot warrior Bluestreak, but the Autobots themselves have been unable to confirm this and, at present, deny that this strange robot even exists. He rarely appears in robot form, seamlessly blending into society, and specializes in mid- to long-range combat, undaunted by the prospect of fighting multiple opponents at once.

- Bluestreak (2015-08-29)
- Japanese ID number: MP-18B
- Accessories: Disperser Rifle, 2 Missile Launchers
- Bluestreak is a redeco of MP-18 Streak, a retool of MP-17 Prowl, in colors based on the blue Diaclone Fairlady Z. He transforms into a licensed Nissan Fairlady 280Z-T. Varying from previous releases, Bluestreak uses Prowl's head and waist rather than Streak's, but uses Streak's car mode roof. Roughly as tall as a Voyager Class figure, he is also in scale with MP-10 Optimus Prime, and can fit inside Prime's trailer in vehicle mode. In contrast to previous larger entries in this line, Bluestreak lacks die-cast parts, and his tires are cast in hard, non-rubberized plastic. There are some issues concerning aligning the car's roof onto the body of the figure. In order to properly attach the back/roof top of the mold, the mid chest panel located in front of the torso must be tilted slightly forward and attached to the small indentation under the figure's "car hood". This will allow the back frame to straighten and get the two pegs on the windshield to lock into the two slots at the back of the car hood.
- For accessories, he comes with his rifle, which can be held with his hands, or can mount onto a flip-out mounting point on his roof via the separate peg on its jointed handle. He also comes with a pair of built-in "Electro Bolt" shoulder cannons that can be deployed in robot mode. He also includes two non-firing missile launchers that clip onto his built-in shoulder cannons, which are the toy-accurate missile launchers Prowl and Streak would come with if bought in Japan via Amazon.com redecoed entirely in silver.
- This mold was also previously redecoed and retooled into MP-19 Smokescreen.

Notes

- The Generation 1 character known as "Bluestreak" in America is known simply as "Streak" (ストリーク Sutorīku) in Japan. This Japanese figure, then, is literally a "blue Streak", and his bio even notes that this is the in-universe origin of this doppelgänger's moniker!
- "Blue Bluestreak" has a storied history in relation to Transformers. Whilst the Generation 1 Bluestreak toy featured an all-new silver deco, his package art and instructions featured a silver and blue deco, one of two color schemes that the figure sported in its original incarnation as a Diaclone toy. Between this and the character being called, well, Bluestreak, it subsequently became a widespread myth that this blue variant was actually sold as Bluestreak under the Transformers brand. Since then, there have been numerous homages to the legendary "Blue Bluestreak" deco in toy form, both as the original Generation 1 Bluestreak character (some of them also under the name "Silverstreak" due to the name "Bluestreak" being unavailable as a trademark for a while) and as alternate universe counterparts.
