Prion (Titan)
- Prion is a Titan and eponymous planet from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Prion was one of the Titans. Partnered with Micronus Prime, Prion made planetfall on a barren world, named in honor of himself, overseeing the development of a new Transformer civilization until the disastrous arrival of the Black Block Consortia.
Fiction
IDW Generation 1 continuity
Millions of years ago, according to Camien historical records, Prion and the other 12 colony Titans departed Cybertron to found new outposts of Cybertronian civilization. First Contact Prion settled on a planet far away from Cybertron, and the new Transformers birthed from Prion's hot spot developed into a civilization of "Mini-Cons". The peaceful colony met its end when the robo-phobic Black Block Consortia sterilized the planet, killing Prion and leaving no survivors but Nickel, who was found by the Decepticon Justice Division days after the attack. Following his revival, Sentinel Prime brought his captive audience of Optimus Prime, Soundwave, and Sovereign to the wreckage of Prion on the eponymous planet, where Sentinel used Prion's remains as a backdrop as he monologued about his plans for Optimus. White Heat
After producing a biopic about the life of Starscream, an offended Starscream arranged for Thundercracker to be tricked into visiting Prion so that he could be surreptitiously assassinated. Thundercracker managed to escape his killers and flee to Earth. Starscream: The Movie
As a Cybertronian affiliated planet, Prion was eventually targeted and consumed by Unicron. Its destruction was later recounted to Rom by Optimus Prime. Our Darkest

- Prion's name could either be a reference to the protein-based infectious agent (as in mad cow disease) or to the birds with saw-like bills.
