Talk:Birth of the Fantastic Double Prime
Regarding the title of this episode, the help of a Japanese speaker would be good. I've seen it translated this way, "The Birth of Double Prime" (or Convoy, YMMV), but I've also heard it as "Behold the Birth of Double Prime." LISTENING to the title as it is roared by Masamune, I hear - "Yume no Double Convoy tanjou." Now, if I'm rapid googling is working for me, "tanjou" is "birth." And "Yume no" is... Dream of? So, then, it would actually be called... "The Dream of Double Convoy is Born"? "Birth of a Dream! Double Convoy"? There was a track on the History of Music set called "Double Conovy! Birth of a Dream"... I'm vaguely terrified by the prospect that I seem dangerous closely to understanding a Japanese sentence, but I'd really like to get proper tiles for the Headmasters episodes, since the subs for the R2 set were a little wonky, and I'm loathe to just go with those titles (unlike MF and V). - Chris McFeely 18:47, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- "Yume no" is more "of dream" than "dream of". A literal translation would be "Double Convoy birth of a dream" (I mean it, I entered the Japanese title into an online translator and this is what I got), although I'm not sure it's the intended meaning.
And while I do agree that character articles should have the English names, should Japanese episodes that have not aired anywhere in English save for a Malaysian crackhead dub use this? I don't think anyone is actually going to look for this episode under the name "Birth of Double Prime", everyone calls it "Birth Of Double Convoy". It's like with Big Convoy, we know he'd be a Prime over here but his article is still called Big Convoy.
