The name or term "Hot Shot" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Hot Shot (disambiguation).
Hot Shot is an Autobot Wrecker and Rescue Bot from the Aligned continuity family.
"It is not wise to mock my glowing energy mustache if you wish to continue living."

One day, Hot Shot could be among the greatest of Autobot heroes. Unfortunately, his desire to get there as soon as possible makes him prone to showing off around his more experienced peers. Maybe he'll eventually learn to stop diving head first into dangerous situations, but until then Kup and Heatwave will be stuck keeping him out of trouble.

Sometimes a member of the crack commando squad the Wreckers, Hot Shot has also been known to be a new recruit to the Earth-based Rescue Bots!

Fiction

Prime cartoon continuity

Voice actor: Jason Jansen (English)

Hot Shot participated in a battle somewhere in the Rigel system alongside his fellow Wrecker Kup. Kup had just finished telling Hot Shot one of his trademark stories when he noticed that the Vehicons attacking them were sporting Enemy-class drone bodies. Luckily for Hot Shot, it just so happened that Kup had been present when the design had first been tested in battle! So, despite Hot Shot's protests, Kup decided to regale his junior with the thrilling story of his encounter with them.

After a good deal of time listening to Kup's story, Hot Shot realized that their Decepticon assailants have stopped firing upon them, which Kup revealed to have been part of his plan: wait until the Decepticons ran out of ammo, and then escape whilst they were restocking. Hot Shot began to express his gratitude at the end of Kup's story, only to learn that Kup hadn't finished.

When Kup finally did finish, Hot Shot quickly began pointing out major holes in his story, such as his recounting of events he hadn't even been present for. Hot Shot's attention to detail only earned him a "Shut up!" from his fellow Wrecker. Unreliable Narratives

He comes with two snap-on blasters which can mount on his engine block, arms, and hands, and can combine to form a larger quad-barreled cannon. The front section features an automorph gimmick, with the shoulders geared together with the head and the top of the hood folding up into Hot Shot's chest when pushed into place. His new head, modeled after Armada Hot Shot and Animated Hot Shot, features a flip-down visor/goggles.

I go which way?
  • Hot Shot (2018)
This version of Hot Shot was is an extensive retool of the Rescan VTOL jet version of Bumblebee, with most parts significantly modified. Hot Shot now transforms into a jet or plane, with his trademark chest harness now forming the front of the plane. A blue windowed cockpit sits near the rear wings.
The original version was also differently retooled into the Rescan series VTOL version of Blades.

Notes

  • Hot Shot's Prime toy is a smorgasbord of homages, featuring elements from every other incarnation of Hot Shot. By contrast, his Rescue Bots Academy design is near-exclusively based on Armada Hot Shot, but with a red truck mode instead of a yellow car (presumably to distinguish him further from Bumblebee).
  • As the Prime Hot Shot toy is an existing mold altered to make a new character, so is his card art; it's a stock promotional render of Bumblebee with new colors and a slightly altered head.
