Comettor (Armada)

- Comettor is an Autobot-allied Mini-Con from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Comettor suffers heavily from wanderlust. He hates staying in one place for any length of time, and loves exploring, especially the astronomical wonders found in the vastness of space. There's nothing he'd rather do than journey through the stars with his spacefaring partner Jetfire, cataloging deep-space phenomena... but the war with the Decepticons tends to keep Jetfire—and therefore Comettor—stuck planetside. This often sends the inquisitive Mini-Con into a deep personal funk, much to Jetfire's dismay. Comettor tries not to let it affect his performance, and it usually doesn't... but Jetfire knows that it's eating him up inside, and does what he can to help his friend through it.

Armada cartoon
Comettor became associated with the Autobots on Earth at an unknown point. He partnered with Jetfire and accompanied him to Mars in search of the latest Mini-Con they detected. Despite this, Comettor actually spent most of his time hunting down Jetfire's erstwhile partner, Starscream, than finding the Mini-Con. Mars
After Optimus Prime's death, Comettor was one of a group of Mini-Cons who confronted the angst-ridden Hot Shot, forcing the young 'bot to try to come to terms with the loss of his leader. Remorse
Dreamwave Armada comic
Comettor was among the Mini-Cons who ended up living on the Moon after escaping from Cybertron. The Decepticons eventually followed them there and attacked their fortress, but Comettor reported that the invaders were driven off by the base's defenses. Armada #9 The Decepticons eventually made their way inside, however, and the Mini-Cons were forced to abandon the base. Comettor boarded an escape pod alongside the Street Speed Mini-Con Team and Inferno, but all of them were left in protective "sleep mode" when the pod crashed in Alaska. Fire & Ice
After the pod was retrieved by the Autobots, Comettor joined several other Mini-Cons on a mission to locate Over-Run's null-reality pods so that they could rescue Optimus Prime from another dimension. Worlds Collide, Part 2 of 4 After making their way to the Decepticon base at Silver Ridge, they hid from three Heralds of Unicron who emerged from a space bridge. Worlds Collide, Part 3 of 4 They eventually found the null-reality pods, and Comettor volunteered to pilot one of them, stating that exploring new frontiers was just up his alley. He traversed dimensions alongside Over-Run and Sparkplug, and arrived on a devastated Cybertron where Optimus Prime and Jetfire were waiting. After the two Autobots combined, Comettor powerlinked with them, providing them with enough power to travel back to their home dimension. Alerted to the presence of Unicron, Comettor returned to Cybertron to fight against the planet eater. During the battle, he powerlinked with Jetfire to add some extra strength to his and Optimus Prime's combination. The End
Panini Armada comic
In the early stages of the war, Comettor was among the Mini-Cons who supported Dualor's plan to kill Megatron by luring him to the Autobot headquarters and blowing it up. Counter-Strike!

- Available only with the larger Autobot Jetfire, Comettor transforms into a six-wheeled Cybertronic moon buggy with top-mounted blaster. He also has a third configuration, forming a front landing strut and under-nose cannon for Jetfire's shuttle mode.
- The Japanese release of the toy has some slight plastic-hue changes, but nothing major.
- This mold was also used to make Starcatcher.
- Powerlinx Jetfire with Powerlinx Comettor (Ultra-Con, 2003)
- The Powerlinx redeco of Comettor makes him largely white with a deeper red. Like before, he was only available with his partner Jetfire.
- Battle for the Matrix (Multi-pack, 2003)
- A Kmart exclusive multi-pack released on Black Friday, this version of Comettor is unchanged from the original release. The set also included a gold Optimus Prime with Sparkplug, Jetfire, the Adventure Mini-Con Team and —oddly enough— Longarm.
- Golden Jetfire w/ Golden Sonar (Ultra-Con, 2003)
- This Japanese contest-prize version of Jetfire and Comettor was done up almost entirely in gold chrome, with gold plastic on the softer-plastic moldings and colorless-clear for transparent plastic. Only one of these was awarded in December of 2003 (the source of the contest is currently unknown).
Built to Rule
- Jetfire with Comettor (Built to Rule, 2003)
- From the smaller-sized Jetfire Built to Rule sets, this version of Comettor is rebuilt from a brick that sorta resembles the original toy's vehicle mode, to a brick that has the original toy's robot-mode head. Whee!

- Throughout both Dreamwave's comics and his profile in Panini's Armada #9, Comettor's name was consistently misspelled "Commetor".
