Fiction

Marvel The Transformers comics

As part of a plan to contact Cybertron, Shockwave sent Soundwave and the newly created Constructicons to find a deep-space radio-telescope to convert into a transdimensional radiowave scrambler. It took hours for the Constructicons to convert the radio-telescope and when it neared completion, Soundwave attached himself to the scrambler. They were soon discovered by the Autobots, transporting Bomber Bill, who was seeking his stolen truck. The Constructicons combined to form Devastator, who attacked the Autobots. Huffer managed to get next to Soundwave, but a moment of hesitation gave Devastator a chance to swat him away. Soundwave then succeeded in sending a signal. Bomber Bill, using his truck, cut the scrambler's hanging cables, which caused a feedback that destroyed the scrambler. The Decepticons retreated, their mission done, and Huffer was left to explain his hesitance in destroying a way to contact their home. The Next Best Thing to Being There!

In Axiom Nexus, Cybertronian Galactic Systems utilized transdimensional radiowave scramblers. In an interview, CEO Speed Dial reported to ANN that the company planed to update their scramblers with voltronic galaxers. He explained that this allowed them to tap into a beforehand unexplored market, as their memo-streams could now be understood by almost any sentient species in existence.
