Hey there, everybody! This is Ryu, from Streets.

Ryu (リュウ Ryū) is a Japanese martial artist trained in fighting techniques derived from Ansatsuken, the assassination arts. Alongside his best friend and training partner Ken, he learned to channel his inner energy and use it to enhance his attacks in battle. His signature techniques include the Hadōken, an energy projectile fired from his palms; the Shōryūken, a jumping uppercut; and the Tatsumaki Senpūkyaku, a midair kick that spins the user like a tornado.

Fiction

Street Fighter II x Transformers packaging story

Pursuing Megatron to another world, Optimus Prime knew he alone would not be enough to match the Decepticon leader, who had been imbued with Psycho Power by Vega. Seeking the strength of a true fighter, Optimus chose Ryu and scanned him to learn his fighting techniques. Though few words were exchanged between the two, both Ryu and Optimus shared a unspoken mutual recognition of each other's strength. Packaging bio

My favorite things are: Jumping into a light fierce. Stale bread. Water without any ice. The newest season of the Simpsons. Aaaaaand dirt.
  • Convoy [Ryu] vs Megatron [Vega] (May 26, 2018)
    • Accessories: Sword, double-barreled rifle, Headmaster
Available as part of the exclusive Street Fighter II × Transformers toyline, Convoy is a redeco of Titans Return Voyager Class Optimus Prime in Ryu's traditional colors, fleshtones and all. He transforms from robot to tanker truck to plane and back. Both vehicle modes have "cockpit" areas to seat any Titan Master (or compatible) figure. Like all Titans Return Voyager class figures, he has built in mechanisms to "bulk up" his noggin. In his case these are spring-loaded pylons. The smaller Headmaster's robot mode is also painted to resemble Ryu.
Ryu was only available in a two-pack with with Megatron [Vega]. This set was available for pre-order on TakaraTomy Mall from November 22 to 27, 2017, with orders fulfilled in late May 2018. A pre-order goal was set as well: if at least 3000 units were pre-ordered, the set would also come with clear display stands for both toys.
