Grimlock is a Tyrannosaurus rex in charge of a small, three-mech group of dinosaur transformers known as the Dinobots. Him Grimlock king, yesssss.

Grimlock and the Dinobots were originally theme park animatronic displays Sari's dad upgrades. As they came to life, they decided they like bashing Transformers rather then greeting cheering kiddies. After their defeat, they were imprisoned in an energy caged but freed by Prowl, who thought they had life and were not just some machines, with the help of Bulkhead. The Dinobots were secretly relocated to an island.
Grimlock believes cars are bad but nature is good -- until two birds pooped on him. Grimlock expected that two birds will fight like Dinobots, but they escaped! Tail twitching and stomach opening, Grimlock transformed. Blast from the Past

Later in the series, Grimlock and Prime have to team up. There's no way this will be an excuse for back-and-forth arguments sprinkled with banter.
