Inkling
Inklings (インクリング Inkuringu) are a race of anthropomorphic cephalopods living on Earth in the distant future. Having evolved from squids over the course of 12,000 years, they are obsessed with two things: keeping up with the latest trends to "stay fresh", and competing with one another in Ink Battles, a popular sport in which they try to cover one another and everything around them in their own ink.
Like Cybertronians, Inklings are capable of transformation, changing between humanoid and squid forms at will. It is inconclusive whether this qualifies as a beast mode.

When the Squid Sisters announced Transformers as the theme for the next Splatfest event, the Inklings responded in droves, dressing in Autobot and Decepticon branded clothing, altering the natural color of their tentacles and ink, and covering all of Inkopolis in art and graffiti supporting their faction of choice. On the night of the Splatfest, battles raged across Inkopolis for 24 hours. In the end, while the majority of Inklings favored the Autobots, it was the Decepticon supporters who won the most Ink Battles during the 24-hour period, claiming victory in the Splatfest. Splatoon
