Category talk:Transformers with multiple modes
So how do we do this now? Do we use this category for everything with more than 2 modes including triple changers or do we only use the appropriate category for that while we use this main category for everything with more than 3 modes? Dead Metal 08:25, 22 July 2009 (EDT)
- The first thing we should do is realize that two modes still qualifies as "multiple." --KilMichaelMcC 09:16, 22 July 2009 (EDT)
- No, seriously: this category DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. --KilMichaelMcC 09:23, 22 July 2009 (EDT)
- "Multiple alternate modes" would have probably been more technically correct. - Starfield 09:25, 22 July 2009 (EDT)

- Triple Changers and "Non-Triple Changer third mode" are sub-categories. Bots with three modes should be filed under one of those, then being a sub-category, they are automatically filed under Multiple Modes. - Starfield 09:19, 22 July 2009 (EDT)
- OK so everything stays the way it is right no. I choose multiple modes over multiple alt-modes as it's pretty obvious what is meant plus there are characters that have two different robot-modes too.Dead Metal 09:34, 22 July 2009 (EDT)
- Regardless of whether it is "pretty it's obvious what is meant" this category with this name doesn't work for what you want it to work for! Words mean things, and "multiple" means more than one, thus the descriptor sentence of Transformers usually have just two modes, robot mode and alternate mode. But some Transformers defy this rule by having multiple modes doesn't make sense. --KilMichaelMcC 09:49, 22 July 2009 (EDT)
- Okay, changing the wording of that sentence, as has been done, is still not enough, because the classification of having "multiple modes" is something applicable to every single Transformer who actually transforms. --KilMichaelMcC 21:05, 22 July 2009 (EDT)

- I don't think a change of classification is going to help, either, because it'd have to be something like "Transformers with more than 2 modes", which is just... I mean... categories should be a word or two, not a sentence fragment. The longer the title, the more likely we're veering into territory best left alone. -- Repowers 21:09, 22 July 2009 (EDT)
How about approaching the whole thing on a much more basic level? Just have a section called "1 mode Transformers" (which would be just Action Masters, I guess) then have "2 modes Transformers" followed by "3 modes Transformers" (which triple-changes would be a subsection of) and so on? --Ascendron 21:31, 22 July 2009 (EDT)
- Sounds like it would be more work and less interesting. --Thylacine 2000 21:41, 22 July 2009 (EDT)
The name of this category still makes no sense. "Multiple" means more than one. Shouldn't it be "Transformers with multiple alternate modes"? --flicky1991 16:41, 13 April 2014 (EDT)
