The Air Commander serves as the leader of the fliers of a Transformer military.

Fiction

Generation 1

Starscream served as the Decepticon Air Commander, leading the Seekers. Because of the number of Seekers in the Decepticon ranks, this allowed him to become Megatron's second-in-command. Naturally, this wasn't enough for Starscream.
