Converter

- Converter is an Autobot Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Though he's the oldest of the Earth-based Micromasters, Converter (コンバーター Konbātā) doesn't act it, trying to always act carefree and full of youthful energy. (Midlife crisis, anyone?) He loves history, and finds the ancient ruins of Earth fascinating. He often uses the tales of his new home's ancient past in his advice to his teammates.
Fiction
Micromaster fiction
Converter and Joe discovered a special stratum deep underground in the area near a dormant volcano, but hadn't had the chance to investigate until the Decepticon Micromasters arrived on the site. After driving off Sixwing with Sixtrain's "Red Mode", Converter allayed Discharge's fears that the Decepticons were attempting to make the volcano erupt, pointing that the digging was indicative of an excavation site. After Gran Arm discovered plates of Cybertronian metal, Converter was certain that life-forms similar to theirs had been there. However, Sixwing returned to try and take the unearthed prize, and Converter had to re-combine with his teammates to fight off the invaders. Sixtrain! Activate Red Mode!!
Later, after the construction of the Metrobase, Converter, Joe, and Crush-Bull were recovering a strange life-pod from the excavation site when the Decepticons made another attack. A strange plasma radiation wave burst form the life-pod, knocking all the Micromasters temporarily offline. They awoke shortly afterward, feeling no ill effects, and the Decepticons beat a retreat. As the newly-arrived Multiforce introduced themselves to the Autobots, the Decepticon Sixbuilder and Sixwing attacked once again. The Train Team offered to help as Sixtrain, but the new arrivals' combined form Landcross was able to handle the situation easily. The Menace of Landcross's Combining Formation!
Operation Combination
Years later, Converter and the rest of the Six-team Micromasters joined Guard City and the Road Corps in defending Earth from the forces of the Decepticon High Regent Scrash. Operation Combination

When the Fallen attempted to consume the power of Vector Sigma for himself, Metroplex gathered the Autobot trains in defense of Cybertron. Converter and the Train Team joined forces with the Trainbots and Liner Team in a massive coupling that restrained the Fallen long enough for Shouki and Goshooter to finish him off. Train Wars 2

Operation Combination
- Sixtrain (Micromaster Sixteam, 1992)

- A straight redeco of Night from the Sixliner team, Converter transforms into an EF66 "Blue Train" engine. He has a "peg" connector tab in the back of his train mode allows him to connect to any fellow Micromaster train or footplate-weapon with a "socket" connector. He can form either leg to Sixtrain or Sixliner (if you do not use his hitch to better secure the footplate as the instructions show), but his normal placement is as the left leg of Sixtrain. This version of Converter was available only as part of a Sixtrain gift set in Japan. The original Six-Teams are considered among the more difficult Japanese Generation 1 pieces to find.

- In 2003, the entire Sixtrain team was re-released as the fifth The Transformers: Micromaster assortment, in individual boxes with a number visible to show which mold was inside each box. For this release, each character was extensively redecoed, plus the decals from the original version were replaced with paint applications.

- In every case of twelve Train Team Micromasters, two of them were solid-red-plastic "Red Mode" variations. All six Micromasters (and combiner kibble parts) were available in this manner.
Notes
- Converter, like all of the six-team Micromasters, had no individual bio information whatsoever until his Micromaster release a decade after his original Operation Combination release.
