Gordon is a United States Air Force officer from the Marvel portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Major Gordon is a major in the United States Air Force. He is the commanding officer at the top secret Oregon Four-Alpha defence base.

Gordon appeared exclusively in the UK portion of the Marvel Comics continuity.

Major Gordon was on duty when an incoming U.F.O. was picked up on his base's radar. He put the base on red alert, but the U.F.O. (really the Decepticon Starscream) arrived much faster than expected. Starscream was able to destroy many aircraft on the ground, before several fighter jets were able to engage him in the skies. Unfortunately, the planes were no match for the Decepticon.

In the end, Major Gordon's forces were helpless in stopping their attacker. He was only driven off when Megatron and the other Decepticons arrived and chased him off, trying to capture him for his recent treachery. The Enemy Within!
