Kup is a veteran Autobot solider who's seen it all and knows how to tell a great story about it. Some could say he has maybe seen a little too much, given how there are plenty of things he feels he's getting too old for...
During the Ark crew's search for the AllSpark, Kup was among the Autobots who stayed on Cybertron to fight off Decepticon forces. Upon their return with the artifact, he assisted them in their battle to restore the planet, during which he took down a Seeker in jet mode with his bare hands before groaning how he was getting too old for this warfare. He was suddenly assaulted by Lockdown only to be saved by Whirl. The Battle For Cybertron II
After the Great War was won in the Autobots' favor, Kup was among the Transformers imprisoned by the Quintessons in the Loop, which made him relive the same five minutes of a parade over and over. The Loop Kup was eventually freed from the simulation alongside the other Autobots thanks to the Cybertronian resistance. The Scientist

Kup was then part of a training excercise that consisted of him, Strika, Grimlock and Dirge fighting against training drones shaped in the image of the quintessons. Before the excercise Strika insulted Kup by calling him "grouchy". Kup was then seen fighting with Dirge over a weapon, Kup was victorious in his struggle with Dirge and then used the weapon against the drones but not before telling Strika and grimlock to "Get it together". Kup was then heard screaming as the drones began to win over in the fight. Kup contined to battle them but a lucky drone got his grip on Kup but he was able to escape it's clutches and fight it properley. Just as the drone looked as though it had the upper-hand Strika came in and saved Kup. luckily they where able to defeat the drones and conquer the excercise (as many other teams did). Later kup would go into battle airborn thanks to dirge and complemented the cone-head on his flying skills. While airborn Kup blazed down several "Quintesson-controlled-robots". A short time later Kup was seen on the ground particually-amazed by the sharkticon Lord Gnaw and his cheriate. He would then be airborn again thanks to dirge but was attcked by Lord gnaws sharkticons and went down! Kup was (assumingly) damaged when the explosive Optimus prime was carrying exploded thanks to Lord Gnaw's spear.
