It's your boy, Guzma!

Lockdown was among the Decepticons present during Megatron's eulogy for Starscream. When orders went out to bring Megatron Optimus Prime's head, Lockdown was forcibly drafted by Shockwave into sabotaging Soundwave's shuttle. He and Clobber, who had been placed in a similar situation, were subsequently drafted into Shadow Striker's own plot as bait. The two went outside to lament their unfair lot, only to encounter an unexpected windfall when the Autobot Hot Rod appeared from a GroundBridge. Acting quickly, they captured the Autobot and brought him to Megatron, who decided to use him as a bargaining chip. Unfortunately for them, Hot Rod broke free of his restraints, and their attempts to recapture him inadvertently foiled Shadow Striker's own, allowing the fugitive to escape. Bring Me The Spark Of Optimus Prime

Lockdown was one of the Decepticons present after Megatron announced that they had found the AllSpark on Earth and cheered for their leader. Trials The Decepticons ultimately claimed the artifact. When Hot Rod, Bumblebee, and Cheetor broke into the Nemesis, Clobber and Lockdown attempted to stop the Autobots were overpowered and quickly sent fleeing. Dark Birth Although the Decepticons believed Starscream dead, the treacherous flier soon resurfaced and seized the AllSpark with a cadre of Decepticons. While Megatron's Decepticons negotiated a truce, Lockdown and Clobber stuck to the sidelines. When talks broke down, the pair were tackled and taken out by Rack'n'Ruin, who they had insulted earlier. Parley

When Starscream made his own power play with an army of Scraplets, Lockdown was one of the many Decepticons drained of energon and paralyzed by the creatures, only to be later restored by a burst of AllSpark energy. Starscream's Children During his escape from the Nemesis, Wheeljack slipped past Lockdown and Clobber, who were complaining about the unsanitary conditions aboard their ship. Secret Science

Lockdown took part in an attempt to take down the AllSpark-empowered Starscream, but, like the other Autobots and Decepticons, was paralyzed and nearly had his spark extracted by Starscream before Optimus was able to use the Matrix of Leadership to blast the artifact free from Starscream's systems. The Decepticons were nearly overwhelmed by the feral Scraplets until Shockwave intervened. With the chamber about to collapse, the Decepticons were forced to relinquish both Starscream and the AllSpark to the Autobots and retreat. I Am The Allspark

Lockdown returned to Cybertron along with the other Decepticons and took part in the subsequent battle against the Autobots, during which he assaulted Kup only to get blasted by Whirl. Battle For Cybertron II

After the Great War was won in the Autobots' favor, Lockdown was among the Transformers captured by the Quintessons, who outfitted them with control helmets that placed them in a simulation loop where they took part in a parade with varying differences each time. During his presence in the Loop, he walked pasted Dirge and Ramjet to get a better view of the parade, accidentally causing Skywarp to attack Alpha Strike. An unsuccessful attempt by Clobber to free Lockdown helped Dead End brake free himself. Having escaped the Loop, Dead End found Lockdown's inactive body. The Dead End Lockdown was eventually freed from the simulation alongside the other Decepticons thanks to the Cybertronian resistance, who got them to transform when they unleashed Air Hammers into the Loop. The Scientist

As part of a team-building exercise, Lockdown was placed in a team with Shadow Striker, Bumblebee, and Arcee, taking on swarms of drones. This proved to be beneficial, as Lockdown joined Arcee in firing heavy artillery during the failed attack on the Quintesson flagship The Alliance

When it was determined that the only way to destroy the Quintesson flagship was to draw out the Judge and its army, Iaconus' cloak was deactivated and Lockdown joined the fight against the endless Sharkticon and Prosecutor hordes alongside Shadow Striker and Arcee. When both the Judge and the ship were destroyed, a new Judge hovered out of the wreckage revealing itself to be Starscream. The Judge

Lockdown was part the first attack against Judge Starscream only to be captured by his tractor beams and locked up with the rest of his species. The End Of The Universe I Lockdown eventually escaped after Maccadam arrived to open the cells, though such an act ultimately cost him his life. The End Of The Universe III

Following the defeat of the Quintessons, the deaths of both Iaconus and Croaton, and the return of both Optimus Prime and Megatron to their native universe, Megatron announced a ceasefire with the Autobots in exchange for half of Cybertron. Though Clobber joined the Autobots, she and Lockdown remained good friends, as the two swapped stories while guarding opposite ends of the border fence that separated the two territories. When Bumblebee payed the two a visit, he displayed some of his multiversal energy before infiltrating Lockdown's half of the fence. Realizing what just happened, he quickly snarked at Clobber for allowing an Autobot to enter the Decepticon half of Cybertron, which Clobber became embarrassed over. Enemy Line

Patrolling the Decepticon side of the border fence with a Decepticon soldier, Lockdown noticed a cloud of dust from the Autobot side. Upon realizing it to be a stampede, Lockdown and his partner retreated in fear. The pair were unaware that the stampede was a distraction so that an Autobot team led by Optimus could infiltrate the Decepticon half of Cybertron with the goal of destroying the alternate Matrix of Leadership Megatron was in possession of. Silent Strike

The trill of the beverage

Lockdown was present at the signing of the Treaty of the Wall, but, along with all the other Autobots and Decepticons, was frozen by the Mercenaries' time blaster. He would later be unfrozen by Wheeljack's machine and could be seen celebrating the reunification of Cybertron with his fellow Cybertronians, Clobber in particular. The Immobilizers

After Tarn gained control over the Decepticon supersoldiers, he forced Optimus Prime to fight against them in a gladiatorial pit, broadcasting it live to all on Cybertron. He also ordered the Decepticons to destroy the Autobots still on Cybertron. While watching Optimus Prime's battle against the supersoldiers with Dead End and Wildwheel, a trio of Autobots which included Clobber found themselves cornered by two supersoldiers. Unwilling to watch his friend get hurt, Lockdown joined the battle, turning the tides to the Autobots favor. Despite his alliegence to the Decepticons, Lockdown was among the Autobots who gathered in the underworld to regroup, and later took part in the final battle against the Decepticon supersoldiers. Lockdown was later present at Soundwave's wake following his heroic sacrifice. The Perfect Decepticon

End of G1 Universe

[edit]

Travelling to another world's Velocitron, Lockdown participated in the Speedia 500 with his world's Shadow Striker. Their run was cut short when Dead End used his forestonite-granted fireball ability to blast through the two, leaving Lockdown in pieces. Mystery of the Speedia 500

Legacy: United "Star Raider Lockdown" is a redeco of Legacy Evolution Axlegrease (who is in turn a retool of Scraphook from the same line) with a new head directly based on his Revenge of the Fallen toy, transforming into a post-apocalyptic car.
As a carry-over from Axlegrease, Lockdown has a feature analogous to the Weaponizer gimmick from the War for Cybertron Trilogy toylines: his body splits apart to form armor and weapon enhancements.
Weirdly enough, despite being affiliated with the Star Seekers Raiders, Lockdown has a Decepticon symbol on the robot mode chest and lacks any Star Raider insignia. The finalized figure as well as stock photos on the packaging backside also show dark green strips and silver spikes on the car's hood, though different stock photos leave those areas black.
Lockdown was first revealed in the Walmart Collector Con online event on March 7, 2024, as part of the Walmart-exclusive "Star Raider" collection.
An image on Mark Maher’s Instagram utilizes Lockdown's weaponizer gimmick to lengthen his legs with an (at the time) unknown Crashbar redeco's arms to achieve more Animated-accurate proportions.<ref>https://www.instagram.com/markclonus/p/C4hFu0psLZ_/</ref> The cross-sell on his instructions advertises his compatibility with this figure, officially revealed as "Star Raider Road Pig."
The car thrusters/cannons can also be used as leg extensions, though it costs him the ability to wield his hook over his hand. This method is a bit of a double-edged sword; When the rear windows face outwards, the knee joints may bend up to 80 degrees, whereas when they face inwards, the knees can bend 90 degrees. However, facing the windows inwards results in a slight a-stance while standing due to the parts clashing.
The original version of this mold was also used to make Buzzworthy Bumblebee Tow-Line.

Notes

[edit]
  • Lockdown's design is influenced by his Revenge of the Fallen toy, which informs his overall kibble placement and various minor details. In particular, subtle elements such as the forearms, the leg proportions, the angular edge of the windshield, and the Y-shaped green pattern on his chest come from Alex Milne's interpretation of this design in IDW's comics. Finally, the headlight details on his shoulders—in addition to his feet—seem like they might've come from the Earth Wars interpretation of the desgin!
  • Despite never transforming in the cartoon, Lockdown's vehicle mode is implied to be a muscle car similar to his original namesake from Transformers Animated.
