I must order you because God told me to.

A fierce and dedicated sentry, Tigertrack (タイガートラック Taigātorakku) patrols Autobot installations with unmatched vigilance. His incredibly acute sensor packages enable him to spot approaching enemies through extreme low-visibility conditions, and can even see through camouflage screens and other optical illusions. Combined with powerful weapons and blazing speed, Tigertrack is one tough bot to get past![1]

Legends comic

In the late 1980s, Tigertrack and Stripes tried to protect the Transform Super Cog in the Ark from being stolen by the Decepticons, but the Battlechargers were able to snatch it from right under their noses. Slugslinger's Ambition

Controverse

More than two decades later, as the trial of Primacron approached, Tigertrack and Stripes remained on guard outside the Galactic Court. Tigertrack's advanced sensor package detected multiple anomalies and suspicious attendants arriving for the trial. The subtle attack he was expecting never came. Instead, the Decepticon Seekers did a bombing run on the walkways while Rumble made a door in his own unique style. Controverse

  • Tigertrack (Autobot, November 2003)
    • Japanese ID number: 90
    • Accessories: "Lazer Homing SAM Launcher", "Electron Pulse Gun", 3 missiles
A mail-away exclusive through issue 60 of Figure Ō magazine, Tigertrack is a redeco of the original Sideswipe toy, transforming into a Lamborghini Countach LP500S. As he was released only in Japan, his spring-loaded missile launcher is fully operational. Several factory-applied decals on the original version were replaced by painted tampographs, like his headlamps.
Pre-orders for this toy closed on December 20 of 2002.
The base mold is also used for Clamp Down, Deep Cover, and Red Alert.

Masterpiece

Seen here without his insignia sticker for maximum Diaclone goodness!
  • Tigertrack (July 2013)
    • Japanese ID number: MP-12T
    • Accessories: "Lazer Homing SAM Launcher", "Electron Pulse Gun", two "Screw Driver" pile drivers
Exclusive to Tokyo Toy Show 2013 and TakaraTomy Mall, Masterpiece Tigertrack is a redeco of MP-12 Lambor, while using the face of MP-14 Alert, Lambor's retool. He transforms into a licensed Lamborghini Countach LP500S, and even features a Lamborghini-supervised paint scheme, such as glossy yellow paint covering the entirety of his vehicle mode panels and robot shoulders, various bits of black detailing to make it accurate to the real-life vehicle, as well as some toy-accurate paint details on his feet. Standing at around 6 1/4 inches (or 15 1/2 centimeters) from head to toe in robot mode, he is also in scale with MP-10 Optimus Prime, and can fit inside Prime's trailer in vehicle mode. In contrast to larger entries in this line, Tigertrack lacks die-cast parts, and his tires are cast in hard, non-rubberized plastic.
For accessories, he comes with his hand-held electron pulse gun, and his non-firing Lazer homing SAM launcher, which is jointed at the peg to allow it to pivot up and down, and can mount on either shoulder in robot mode. Both his launcher and gun can be combined and mounted on a self-covering peg-hole on his vehicle roof/robot back. He also comes with a pair of "screw drivers", which can snap onto the ends of his forearms when either hand is flipped in, and are based on the jackhammer-like pistons Sideswipe uses in "Dinobot Island, Part 2".
Tigertrack also comes with two differently-sized, customer-applied insignia stickers for his hood-chest. He comes in a shiny monochrome box with monochrome instructions, both of which have detail on the history of this obscure character.

Notes

  • Like many e-HOBBY exclusives, Tigertrack's coloration is based on a pre-Transformers Diaclone variation of the mold.
  • According to early Transformers media and his bio, Sunstreaker (originally called Spin-Out) should look like Tigertrack. This is presumably owing to confusion between the Diaclone colors and the switched final coloring of Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. This is also the source of Tigertrack's "Electron Pulse Gun" weapon, as that was to be Spin-Out's signature weapon.
